Camp Description

Pianists and vocalists are invited to come together July 13-17 2020 Larsen Fine Arts Center at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois to celebrate and develop their musical skills.  Students may choose either a piano track or musical theater track with lessons, core classes and electives to inspire and challenge the inner musician.  

Young Piano Camp

  • Piano students ages 4-8 will receive a semi-private lesson and four classes (Musicianship, Piano Movement Games, Art, Drumming)

Full Piano Camp 

  • Piano students ages 9-10 will receive a semi-private lesson and five classes (Musicianship, Piano Movement Games, Music Appreciation/History, Art, Drumming)
  • Piano students ages 11 and up will receive a semi-private lesson, three core classes (Keyboard Skills, Music Apprecitation/History, and Performance) and two elective classes (Art, Chamber, Composition, Hand Bells, Modern Band Ensemble, Piano Ensemble, Steel Drum Band, Vocal Techniques)

Musical Theater Camp

  • Vocal students 11 and up with receive a semi-private lesson, three core classes (Musical Theater Workshop, Music Theory and Music Appreciation/History) and two elective classes (Art, Chamber, Composition, Hand Bells, Modern Band Ensemble, Piano for Beginners, Steel Drum Band, Vocal Techniques)

All students will enjoy camp activities and games and will have solo and group performance opportunities throughout the week.

Olivet Nazarene University is situated on a 168-acre park-like setting in Bourbonnais, just north of the city of Kankakee, IL. The campus is 60 miles south of Chicago's Loop. From Interstate 57, Exit 315, the campus is about two miles south. Ample practice facilities will be available in the Larsen Fine Arts building.
